Poteau girls third, Pirates sixth after first round of Glen Rose Invitational

GLEN ROSE, Texas — The Poteau Lady Pirates golf team is third and the Pirates sixth after the first day of the Glen Rose Invitational, which took place Friday at Squaw Valley Golf Course. The final round will be Saturday.
The Lady Pirates shot a team score of 364, which is 24 team strokes behind Day 1 leader Keller, Texas (340). Joshua, Texas (358) is in second place.
Two-time Class 4A state champion Hannah Ward is in a tie for second place at 77, one shot off the lead.
Poteau's Cody Shore is in a five-way tie for third place after Day 1 with a 74, which is three shots back of the leader.

Pocola boys get wins over Bokoshe Tigers, Antlers Bearcats in Cameron Spring Break Festival

POCOLA — The Pocola Indians finished their four-game stint in the Cameron Spring Break Festival undefeated with two wins on Thursday, beating county rival Bokoshe 12-1 and Antlers 13-5, at their own site.

Leflore boys suffer losses to Seminole, Stilwell in Cameron Spring Break Festival

CAMERON — The Leflore Savages suffered two losses on Thursday, falling 10-0 to Seminole and 6-0 to Stilwell, in the Cameron Spring Break Festival.

Talihina boys go winless in Broken Bow Tournament

BROKEN BOW — It was a rough spring break for the Talihina Golden Tigers baseball team as they lost all four games in the Broken Bow Tournament. They lost 12-11 to Valliant, 10-0 to Kingston, 13-5 to Wagoner and 3-1 to Coalgate.

Team Knight wins on Sardis

The LeFlore County Bass Club had its first open tournament of 2014 Saturday at Potato Hills South on Sardis Lake. There were 23 boats filled with anglers who caught a combined total of 47 fish with weighed a combined 155.92 pounds. Each fish caught averaged 3.32 pounds, and seven limits were caught.
The Knight duo of Justin and Dakota won the event with a total of 27.68 pounds, which is a club record on a five-fish limit stringer, to earn them $500. Among the fish hauled in was Justin's big bass winner of 7.85 pounds to earn him an additional $200.

Wolf Ridge Grand Opening Tournament set March 29

The Wolf Ridge Country Club Grand Opening Tournament will begin at noon March 29. Check-in time will be 11 a.m. with a lunch provided.
The entry fee is $50 per person or $100 per two-person team.
Mulligans will be available for $10 apiece with a limit of two per golfer.
The tournament will be divided into three flights, with the top three teams in each flight being awarded prizes.
