FORT GIBSON â€” The Poteau baseball team lost 5-3 to Sperry in a battle of Pirates on the final day of the Fort Gibson Tournament on Saturday.
With the game tied at 3 in the sixth inning, Sperry scored twice to get the win.
Spiro 7, Jay 3: Saturday at Arvest Ballpark in Springdale, Ark., the Bulldogs used a four-run fifth inning to break a 3-all tie.
Roland 3, Pocola 1: Friday in Roland, the Rangers scored once in the second inning to tie the game at 1, then scored twice in the fifth to get the win.
The Carl Albert State College Lady Vikings ended their regular season with a home softball split with Rose State College on Friday afternoon.
The Lady Vikings won the nightcap 3-0 after losing the opener 9-5.
The postseason will begin this afternoon for the Lady Vikings as they will be a part of the first-ever Region II Tournament play-in series, facing Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. Tuesday. If both teams split today's twinbill, a rubber game will take place on Wednesday at a time to be determined at the end of Tuesday's action.
The Carl Albert State College Vikings split their home baseball games with Redlands Community College at Ival Goodman Field.
The Vikings took the opener 5-0, but lost the nightcap 6-2 in nine innings.
The Vikings, who played Monday night against Connors State in Warner, will make up its road doubleheader against the University of the Ozarks junior varsity at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Clarksville, Ark.
