Panama girls defeat Wilburton, but fall twice to Silo in district tournament to conclude spring slow-pitch campaign

WILBURTON — The Panama Lady Razorbacks softball team posted a 9-6 win over the host Wilburton Lady Diggers in Friday's Class 4A District Tournament, but fell twice to the Silo Lady Rebels by scores of 12-0 and 13-3 to see their spring season end.

Pocola girls beat Warner, but lose to Okemah twice in Class 4A District Tournament to see season end

WARNER — The Pocola Lady Indians softball team started off Friday's Class 4A District Tournament in fine fashion with a 12-2 rout of the host Warner Lady Eagles.
However, the Okemah Lady Panthers ended the Lady Indians' season with 6-3 and 11-9 victories.

Whitesboro girls go 1-2 in Class A District Tournament as season concludes

BUFFALO VALLEY — The season came to an end for the Whitesboro Lady Bulldogs softball team in Friday's Class A District Tournament.
The Lady Bulldogs beat Battiest 11-5, but then suffered back-to-back losses to end their season — falling 13-0 to Buffalo Valley and 18-0 to Battiest.

Spiro boys lose home game to Hilldale

SPIRO — Less than 24 hours after spoiling Senior Night for their rivals from Poteau, the Spiro Bulldogs had their Senior Night spoiled by the Hilldale Hornets on Tuesday as the visitors from Muskogee beat the ’Dogs 16-7 in a run-rule game after five innings.

Spiro Bulldogs' sprinter, mile relay win titles at Inola

INOLA — Spiro's McKinley Whitfield and the Bulldogs' 1,600-meter relay teams won titles at last Thursday's Inola Invitational.
Whitfield won the 200-meter dash (23.22 seconds), while Whitfield, Matt Jones, Malik Walker and Lafayette Hutchinson won the 1,600-meter relay (3:35).
As a team, the ’Dogs were sixth with 56 points, finishing behind champion Lincoln Christian (98 points), Kansas (88), Mannford (86), Dewey (70) and Sequoyah-Tahlequah (60).

Cameron, Arkoma girls see seasons end in Class 2A District Tournament

SMITHVILLE — Two LeFlore County softball teams, the Cameron Yellowjackets and the Arkoma Lady Mustangs, saw their seasons end in Friday's action in the Class 2A District Tournament.
The Lady ’Jackets eliminated the Lady Mustangs 6-3, then were beaten 7-2 by the host Lady Braves.

Poteau girls beat Heavener to celebrate Senior Night, end 2014 regular season

The sad news for the Poteau Lady Pirates softball team was it was dethroned as county champions this spring. The good news was they beat this year's county champs to end the regular season.
Thanks to a three-run first inning complements of Sunnie McConnell's three-run home run, the Lady Pirates got past the Lady Wolves for a 5-3 victory Tuesday on Senior Night.

It was heartbreak for the Carl Albert State College Lady Vikings softball team Wednesday afternoon. After being only a win away Tuesday afternoon from making Friday's main draw of the Region II Tournament, the season came to a crashing halt.
The Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa Lady Mavericks took the rubber game of the Region II Tournament Play-In Series on Wednesday afternoon by outlasting the Lady Vikings 21-19 in a game that took almost three hours to play.

CASC baseball team splits road games with University of the Ozarks JV; Vikings welcome Western to town this weekend for four-game series

CLARKSVILLE, Ark. — The Carl Albert State College Vikings baseball team split its road games Tuesday afternoon against the University of the Ozarks junior varsity.
The Vikings took the nightcap 18-8 after losing the opener 8-2.
The Vikings will entertain the Western Oklahoma State College Pioneers for two doubleheaders, one at 1 p.m. Friday and the other at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ival Goodman Field.
