Three local high school baseball players, Leflore's David Morris and Chance Long as well as Cameron's Tre' Obregon, will represent LeFlore County in the 2014 Sophomore Sun Belt Games.
The trio will play in the Sophomore Sun Belt Games June 27-29 at Oklahoma City's Dolese Park.
The team of Jason May and Poteau girls golf coach Randall Wheat won the first flight title at the Wayne Husak Memorial Golf Tournament, which took place Saturday and Sunday at Choctaw Country Club. The duo finished with a 127.
Kale Holton and Russell Vanhook were second (132), followed by Lyle Whitworth and Perry Reed (136), Jerry and Kelly Holton and Joe Tackett and Joe Claborne (138), Jim Waddle and Gary Brown (141) and Jim Janssen and Todd Gunnels (145).
Three LeFlore County high school basketball graduates will get at least one more contest under their belts.
Poteau's Montana Roll, Cameron's Kacey McGee and Panama's Summer Stockton were named to the 2014 Indian All-State Girls Basketball Team and will play in the Indian All-State Game at 6 p.m. June 14 at Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville.
One other local player, Keota's Casey Marshall made the second team of the 2014 Indian All-State Team, and she will be an alternate and get to play in the game should someone not be able to play.
The 49th annual Choctaw Country Club Invitational Golf Tournament will be June 21-22. This year, there is a new format for the tournament with fourball on Day 1 and a scramble on Day 2 for the two-man teams.
Entry fee is $350 per team which includes the two rounds of golf, a practice round on June 20 and a steak dinner and entertainment on June 21.

The Mark "Mud Duck" Sullivan Youth Golf Tournament will take place at 9 a.m. June 4 at Choctaw Country Club. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. that morning.
It was double the honor last week at the Spiro Multipurpose Gym as two Bulldogs signed basketball letters of intent.
Knifeis Carter signed with Carl Albert State College, while Timothy Perry inked with Southern Nazarene University.
