WESTVILLE â€” Class 4Aâ€™s top-ranked Poteau Pirates soccer team had little problem with the Westville Yellowjackets on Friday night, posting a 10-0 mercy-rule victory.
However, the Lady Pirates were not as fortunate, losing 5-0 to the Lady â€™Jackets.

GORE â€” The Arkoma Mustangs baseball team suffered a 10-2 loss Friday morning to Hulbert in the Gore Tournament.
Because the Mustangs were playing in the LeFlore County Tournament on Friday afternoon at Town Creek Park, the Mustangs were forced to forfeit their loserâ€™s-bracket game later in the day.

â€śA Bike for Daylonâ€ť will happen May 18. Daylon is a 13-year-old with cerebral palsy who wants a bike to ride with his family.
Funds are being raised to help his parents purchase an adaptive bike for him. For more information, call Rachel Pickerel at (918) 649-4028.

The second annual Brittney Cox Memorial Golf Tournament 2-Man Scramble will take place at 8 a.m. and approximately 1 p.m. April 27 at Choctaw Country Club.
MUSKOGEE â€” Poteau golfer Hannah Ward, the defending Class 4A state champion, won the Hilldale Invitational on Friday afternoon. She shot a 73.
As a team, the Lady Pirates were second with a 366.
One other Lady Pirate medaled as Cathleen Manlove was 10th at 89.
Alyssa Vineyard shot a 94, followed by Skylynn Terry (110), Dallas Terry (111) and Jenna Stites (116).
The Lady Pirates will return to action at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Sallisaw Invitational.
The Poteau Boys Invitational will begin at 8 a.m. Monday at Choctaw Country Club.
The defending LeFlore County Tournament champion Wister Wildcats are two wins from successfully defending their title.
The Wildcats blanked the Spiro Bulldogs 4-0 Friday afternon in Cameron to make it to todayâ€™s 1 p.m. winnerâ€™s-bracket final against the winner of the Poteau-Cameron game, which took place Friday night in Cameron.
The Whitesboro Bulldogs, the Panama Razorbacks and the Heavener Wolves stayed alive in early action on Friday.
The Poteau Lady Pirates track team won its third meet of the season in the state of Oklahoma â€” its own.
The Lady Pirates won the Poteau Invitational on Friday afternoon at Costner Stadium with 154 points. Broken Bow was second (122 points), followed by Idabel (94), Quinton (65.67), Howe (57.33), Heavener (53), Haworth (33) and Spiro (28).
The Idabel boys won the team title with 161 points, with Sallisaw second (106 points), followed by Quinton (79), Broken Bow and Haworth (76), Poteau (48), Spiro (41), Roland (35), Heavener (18) and Howe (four).
MUSKOGEE â€” The Poteau Lady Pirates softball team split Friday's four games to begin play in the Muskogee Tournament, but one of those wins was a big upset.
The Lady Pirates, ranked 10th in Class 6A, upset No. 7 Jenks 10-8 after holding off Sequoyah-Tahlequah 3-2.
Poetau lost 8-2 to No. 6 Muskogee and 8-0 to No. 2 Westmoore.
The Lady Pirates did not finish high enough in their pool to play in the medal games today.
Last Friday, a group of motorcross riders went to RaceDay Park Mx to ride, since all our kids were out of school for Good Friday. It was a great day with perfect track conditions.
Now, Iâ€™m having a little problem with this little 65-feet high jump. I just canâ€™t quite clear it yet. I always land short because I just donâ€™t commit to it because itâ€™s a long jump and, to be honest, Iâ€™m a little intimidated by it.
