OKLAHOMA CITY — The San Antonio Spurs 20-game winning streak is now a two-game losing streak. Kevin Durant made sure of that Saturday night, scoring 18 of his 36 points in the fourth quarter, including 16 points in a row at one point to ensure a 2-2 series and a Game 6 back at Chesapeake Energy Arena Wednesday night, as the Thunder won 109-103.
Serge Ibaka also brought his “A” game, scoring 26 points on a perfect 11-of-11 from the field and 4-of-4 from the free-throw line.

The Eastern Oklahoma Riverdawgs Major American Legion baseball team thought it was going to get to begin its home season a little earlier than originally scheduled.
The Riverdawgs were rained out Sunday afternoon at Bentonville, Ark.
The single nine-inning game was to be played at 7 p.m. Monday night in Cameron, but Monday morning's rain washed it out.
Riverdawgs Coach Dave Oliver said the game has not be rescheduled as of this time.
FORT SMITH, Ark. — Most everyone has heard the old saying, “A bad day at the office.” Unfortunately for the Eastern Oklahoma Riverdawgs Major American Legion baseball team, that axiom rang true for the locals Thursday at Forsgrem Field.
Kerwins opened its Legion season by sweeping the Riverdawgs in a pair of four-inning, run-rule games, 14-2 and 11-1.
It has been about five years since I came before you with the idea of putting artificial turf on the field at Costner Stadium. It was not well received, and I was even called the village idiot of Poteau — VIP for short.
Well, I was approached by two members of the Poteau Quarterback Club who were excited about the possibility of getting turf for the field, and those two members got my juices flowing again. Poteau deserves the best.
A representative of UBU Sports came to the Quarterback Club meeting last month, and presented the Club with the possibility of placing turf on the field.
OKLAHOMA CITY — Down 2-0 in the Western Conference Finals, the Oklahoma City Thunder desperately needed a win in Game 3 Thursday night at Chesapeake Energy Arena. OKC Coach Scott Brooks threw his normal game plan out the window and went all out to get the win. Thabo Sefolosha answered the call playing shut down defense on San Antonio's Tony Parker — and anyone else that happened to have the misfortune of having him guard them. The Thunder came out with a 102-82 victory, revitalizing their postseason run.

Hackler was hired late last month as the new Sallisaw Black Diamonds Basketball Coach.
“It's a larger and bigger school,” Hackler said. “I've always wanted to coach at a big school. I came from Poteau, so I'm used to the big-school atmosphere. I wanted a change, and it's going to be a great opportunity.”
