School starting means fall is just around the corner

August 23, 2012

Summer is officially over, and school starts this week. This means that dove season is just around the corner, and archery season is not far behind that. With this in mind, be sure that you and your kids have taken the hunter safety course. There is one scheduled this weekend at the Kiamichi Technology Center in Poteau at 8 a.m. Saturday. Don’t waste time; the season will begin before you know it! Another thing you need to be aware of are the Oklahoma Free Hunting Days are taking place Sept. 1-2, during which Oklahoma residents do not need a hunting license or HIP permit to go afield.
