How time flies when you're having fun. Can you believe that by the end of this week, the regular season for 2012 high school football will be done? It just seems like I was doing small trips to our local high schools to do media days and preparing the 2012 LeFlore County Gridiron Preview. Now, come next Friday night high school football will be over for those teams who don't make the playoffs.
Sunday Couple Scrambles at Wolf Ridge Golf Course will take place at 2 p.m. Sundays. The entry fee is $15 per person for the nine-hole weekly event.

ARKOMA — The Arkoma Mustangs football team can achieve a .500 season by winning its final two games of the season. The locals took care of the first game.
The Mustangs celebrated Senior Night with a 54-8 rout of Southwest Christian on Friday night at Mustang Field.
The Mustangs (4-5) can end their season at .500 with a District C-4 victory at 7:30 p.m. next Friday at Webbers Falls.
HEAVENER — The Heavener Wolves football team, which was eliminated from Class 3A playoff contention last week, at least ended the home season on a high note Friday night at Harvey Stadium.
The Wolves handled the Idabel Warriors for a 41-18 victory to end a four-game losing streak.
ROLAND — After trailing by three touchdowns, the Spiro Bulldogs fought back to within four points with a big third quarter. However, the rally came up short as they lost to the Roland Rangers by a score of 36-24 Friday night in a crucial District 3A-8 contest.
BROKEN BOW — This games had more ups and downs than the roller coaster ride at Coney Island. The Poteau Pirates fought back to tie the score at 7-7, and then it appeared that the sky simply fell in on them. The Savages scored 16 unanswered points on the Pirates, and it appeared that life support was about to be pulled.
Poteau scored on a 77-yard run by Roger Barcheers and then held the Savages. Poteau had a shot to score on the last play of the game, but could not make connections.
PANAMA — The Panama Razorbacks faced their ol' Leflore county rivlal the Pocola Indians Friday night at George Ollie Stadium with playoff implications for both teams. The Razorbacks came out victorious by a score of 20-14, with one of their touchdowns coming from the defensive side of the ball.
The win, coupled with Hugo's 35-22 upset win over Wilburton on Friday night, gave the Razorbacks (4-5 overall, 3-2 in District 2A-6 play) third place, regardless of what happens on Senior Night next Friday night against Vian.
SAVANNA — Talihina's Golden Tigers took it on the chin Friday night, fighting the cold and losing 33-6 to the Savanna Bulldogs in a big District A-6 contest.
The Golden Tigers (8-1 overall, 4-1 in district play) will close out the regular season at 7:30 p.m. next Friday against the Gore Pirates at Doc Robinson Stadium for Senior Night for a shot at a share of the district championship.
