I have kept statistics for the Poteau Pirates for 25 years now, and I have seen many great backs tote the ball for the Pirates. I've never seen a back as prolific as Roger Barcheers.
Mike Sullivan said David had to average 250 rushing yards per game. If my calculations are right, I would have David Rolle at 5,750 yards unofficially.
At the present time, here are the top 10 Rushers of the modern era:
1. Nik McDaniel 4,356
2. Roger Barcheers 4,342
3. Eric Warren. 4,019
4. Tim Branch 3,161
5. Jace Pitchford 1,850
6. Zane Johnson 1,446
7. Niles McDaniel 1,354
8. Shawn Carnahan 1,253

Cameron 67, McCurtain 58: Friday night in Cameron, the Lady Yellowjackets got their first win of the new season.

Four of the eight LeFlore County high school football teams played their final games for the 2014 season.
However, for Poteau [Class 4A], Spiro [Class 3A], Panama [Class 2A] and Talihina [Class A], they will begin their playoff runs Friday night. Only the Golden Tigers will be home. The other three will begin postseason play on the road.
The 2014-15 Poteau Buccaneer Basketball League needs three coaches — one for a first-second grade coed team, one for a third-fourth grade boys team and one for a boys fifth-sixth grade team. If these coaching voids are not filled, those respective divisions will not have a draft, and thus there will not be a season for those players who have signed up to play.
