After being rained out thanks to remnants of Tropical Depression Bill, the 2015 Red Oak Summer Slam, that was to have started Wednesday, will begin Monday.
However, the original schedule is being changed, and it was not available at press time. Once it’s made available to The Poteau Daily News, it will be put up on our website’s sports page.
Tuesday’s schedule will appear in Tuesday’s edition, with Wednesday’s bracket action teams and match-ups to set up for crowning the tournament’s champion not being determined until after all action on the first two days are completed.
It feels like May all over again. For the second straight day, the first day of action in the Red Oak Summer Slam softball tournament was rained out at all three sites — Carl Albert State College, both fields in Red Oak and Wilburton — for today after being so on the event’s originally-scheduled starting day on Wednesday.
As of press time, it was uncertain what was going to be done, or if the entire event was just going to be a wash.
