Rain interrupts Thursday action at LeFlore County Baseball Tournament; new schedule set

April 9, 2015

For the first time this week, Mother Nature was a winner during the 2015 LeFlore County Baseball Tournament.
After Heavener eliminated Panama 5-2 in Thursday's loser's-bracket quarterfinal at Howe's Lions Field, rain washed out the final two games of the night — the other loser's-bracket quarterfinal game between Cameron and Spiro and the winner's-bracket final between Poteau and Wister.
The Cameron-Spiro game will be at 3 p.m. Friday, with the winner meeting Heavener at 5 p.m. Poteau and Wister will play at 7 p.m.

County baseball tournament seeding meeting set Wednesday; LCT will begin on Monday (UPDATED SCHEDULES)

March 31, 2015

The 2015 LeFlore County Baseball Tournament seeding meeting will take place at 9 a.m. Wednesday inside the lobby of the Howe Gym as the Lions are this year’s host school.
Howe coach Jon Sockey said the decision to wait until Wednesday to seed the tournament instead of doing it last week as it likely would have been was due to allowing the teams to get an extra game or two under their belts.
Thursday’s edition will have the outcome of the seeding meeting, with the bracket appearing in Saturday’s edition. The tournament will begin Monday.
