The player who scores the most points is usually the one that gets the most attention in basketball, but that’s not important to Red Oak’s Paige Campagna.
Campagna played in the All-State Small-School Girls Basketball Game Wednesday night at the Oral Roberts University Mabee Center in Tulsa. Defense is what matters most to her.
Campagna did not score but impacted the defense, making two steals, two assists and grabbing a rebound for the Small East in its 80-50 rout of the Small West.
Spiro’s Jason Hickman set two goals before embarking on his high school baseball career. One was met by earning a spot on the East team for the All-State Large School Baseball Game, which took place Tuesday night at Oral Roberts University’s R.L. Johnson Stadium in Tulsa. Hickman played center field Tuesday night.
‚ÄúIt‚Äôs been the biggest honor I have ever had in my life,‚ÄĚ Hickman said. ‚ÄúI‚Äôve been looking forward to this since the first day of my freshman year. This was what I wanted throughout high school, that and a state championship.‚ÄĚ
