BOKOSHE â€” The Wister Wildcats spoiled the Bokoshe Tigers' shot at a modest two-game winning streak Thursday night with a 93-53 victory at Bokoshe Tigers Fieldhouse.
The Wildcats jumped out to a 25-9 lead after a period and never looked back.
Panama 67, McCurtain 46: In McCurtain, the Razorbacks pretty much led from start to finish, taking a 15-11 lead after a period, a 31-24 halftime advantage and a 48-37 lead into the final quarter.
BOKOSHE â€” The Bokoshe Lady Tigers got back on the winning track Thursday night with a 58-44 home win over the Wister Lady Wildcats at Bokoshe Tigers Fieldhouse.
Trailing 13-9 after a period, the Lady Tigers outscored the Lady Wildcats 49-29 over the final three periods to get the come-from-behind win.
Panama 60, McCurtain 53: In McCurtain, the Lady Razorbacks won for the second time in 48 hours.
Quinton 45, Pocola 36: In Quinton, the Lady Savages, who trailed 8-4 after a period, outscored the Lady Indians 17-7 in the second quarter to take a 21-15 halftime lead.
VIAN â€” The Poteau Pirates wrestling team posted a 43-33 victory on the Vian Wolverines, handing the host team its first loss of the season in 11 duals.
The Pirates, along with Talihina's four wrestlers, will be in the McAlester Tournament this weekend.
The Hodgen Bulldogs and the Howe Lions, as well as the Fanshawe Lady Grizzlies and the Cameron Lady Yellowjackets reached Friday afternoonâ€™s consolation finals with Thursday wins at the Shady Point Gym in the 2015 LeFlore County Junior High Tournament.
The â€™Dogs got past the Talihina Golden Tigers 43-33, while the Lions beat last yearâ€™s champions, the Monroe Eagles, 38-25.
Both the Lady Grizzlies and Lady â€™Jackets won three-point games, as Fanshawe got past LCT host Shady Point 28-25 and Cameron edged Wister 26-23.
Thursdayâ€™s games at the Spiro Multipurpose Gym set up Saturday afternoonâ€™s match-ups at Carl Albert State Collegeâ€™s Mick Thompson Fieldhouse for fifth place in the 2015 LeFlore County Junior High Tournament.
The girlsâ€™ fifth-place game will pit the Poteau/Pansy Kidd Middle School Lady Raiders against the Hodgen Lady Bulldogs at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at CASC. The Lady Raiders survived a late Leflore rally to down the Lady Savages 34-28, while the Lady Bulldogs defeated the Whitesboro Lady Bulldogs 31-25.
The Talihina High School wrestling team, all four members strong, will begin its season in this weekendâ€™s McAlester Tournament at Brumley Gym. Action today will begin at 5 p.m., with the final day of matches commencing at approximately 11 a.m. Saturday. They will be joined locally at the two-day event by the Poteau Pirates, who wrestled in Thursday nightâ€™s dual at Vian.
The Golden Tigers return their lone state qualifier of a season ago, Domnick Shedd, who will be at 195 pounds.
The Poteau Pirates Quarterback Club will have a fundraising Frito chili pie dinner from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Sunday at the Bob Lee Kidd Civic Center. The dinner is $5 per person.
There will also be a pie auction as well as tickets being sold for a drawing for a Colt rifle.
All proceeds will help fund future expenses for the Poteau Pirates Quarterback Club.
