CAMERON â€” The Arkoma Lady Mustangs doubled up the Cameron Lady Yellowjackets 4-2 Thursday afternoon, then the duo of Baylee White and Amber Cunningham combined on a one-hitter as the Lady Mustangs blanked the Cameron junior varsity 6-0.
In Arkomaâ€™s first victory, the game was scoreless until the Lady Mustangs scored once in the fourth and sixth innings, then twice more in the seventh for a 4-0 lead.
In the second game, White struck out three batters in three innings while allowing a hit, while Cunningham allowed no hits in two innings. Faith Gotes had the hit for the Cameron JV.
WISTER â€” The Wister Wildcats got a home victory over the Whitesboro Bulldogs by a score of 11-2 in a game ended by run rule after four innings.
The Wildcats jumped out to a 6-0 lead after an inning and never looked back.
Howe 9, Braggs 5; Okay 1, Howe 0: Thursday in Okay, the Lions (3-7) split their games in Thursdayâ€™s road three-way.
In the win over Braggs, the Lions broke a scoreless tie with a six-run second inning.
Tickets still remain for the Poteau Piratesâ€™ football season opener in the Hootenâ€™s Kickoff Classic against Alma, Ark., at Fort Smith [Ark.] Northside High School at 7:45 p.m. Thursday.
Tickets for adults and students cost $7 per person, while pre-schoolers will be admitted for free.

The 2014 Poteau Fall Softball League and 2014 Poteau Fall Baseball League are ready to register teams for the upcoming season.
Third-year Poteau football coach Greg Werner was a pretty happy camper after how he saw his Pirates perform in Thursday nightâ€™s final preseason tune-up in a four-way scrimmage with host Tahlequah, Hilldale and Wagoner at Northeastern State University.
The Pirates scored seven times against the other three teams. Dalton Smith had a 6-yard touchdown run and Roger Barcheers a 5-yard TD against the host Tigers.
Smith had a 13-yard scoring run and Elijah Price a 12-yard TD run against the Hornets, while Austin Archey had a 3-yard touchdown run against the Bulldogs.
After a rough outing against the Muldrow Lady Bulldogs 48 hours before, the Poteau Lady Pirates looked sharper â€” and got a win as a result as they blanked the Spiro Lady Bulldogs 4-0 Thursday afternoon.

While the Poteau Pirates football team got its final preseason tune-up in tonightâ€™s four-way scrimmage at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah against the host Tahlequah Tigers, Wagoner Bulldogs and the Hilldale Hornets, the other LeFlore County teams will get their final tune-ups on Friday.
Of the five scrimmages featuring county teams today, two will have two local squads going up against each other. One of them, Heavener at Panama, will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at Panamaâ€™s George Ollie Stadium.
I had the chance to attend â€śThe Brave the Mud 5k Adventure Runâ€ť last weekend, and it was awesome.
I was so excited about all the obstacles because I always watch â€śAmerica Ninja Warriorâ€ť and believe I can actually run those courses.
IDABEL â€” Several Heavener high school and junior high runners medaled in the season-opening meet, the Haworth Invitational, Monday afternoon at the Idabel Country Club.
Three Lady Wolves medaled in the high school girls division, whose runners ran a 1.3-mile course. Barbara Johnson was seventh (8:55), Iris Martinez was 17th (10:08) and Johna Enger was 19th (11:17). Brenda Macias ran an 11:56, while Ali Paxton had a 12:48, but their overall places were not available.
