Poteau BalloonFest begins today

October 17, 2014

The Poteau BalloonFest began at noon today. Some of the riders from RaceDay Park Mx will ride their dirt bikes in “The Dirt Bike Rodeo” at Phil Gardenhire Arena. They'll be the entertainment in between Derek Cook's motocross jumps and flips. If you've never watched Derek and his crew flip motorcycles and jump through the air, you need to come and watch because it's truly amazing.
I got to stand right under the ramp last year and get up close, and I just can't believe what they can really do on a motorcycle.
Save the world, recycle.
God bless our troops and our veterans.

All eight LeFlore County teams were in action Thursday night, including the renewal of the Pocola-Panama rivalry.
Any Thursday game stories that didn't make today's edition will be published in Saturday's edition.
