The family will hold private services at a later date. Mallory-Martin Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Leslie Earl Odom, 83, of Poteau died Wednesday Aug. 6, 2014, in Poteau.
Leslie was born Oct. 5, 1930, in Poteau to Henry Archie and Callie (Wiley) Odom. Leslie was a welder. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, James Odom, Henry Odom and Pauline Scott.Â
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) â€” Gov. Mary Fallin does not plan to attend a fundraising event for the Garvin County Republican Party that a flier says will include discussion of the Ku Klux Klan, the governor's spokesman said Wednesday.
Fallin, a Republican who is seeking re-election to a second four-year term, is listed as the guest speaker in a flier distributed by Republican organizers in the southern Oklahoma county for the Aug. 23
"GOP Bean Feed" event featuring a meal of beans and cornbread.

Arkoma High School athletics announces the 2014-15 parents/guardians meeting 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Arkoma Events Center to officially present all paperwork necessary to participate in sports.
All athletes going in to 7 through 12 grade must be represented at the meeting.

The new LeFlore County 911 system is set to launch today [Aug. 6] at 9 a.m.
According to Sheriff Rob Seale, there are no disruptions expected to the 911 service. Should there be any issues in the switch, the nearest 911 system, Sequoyah County, would automatically received the rerouted calls without delay.
