The Treble Choir of the Cavanal Chorale performs Saturday night at the Boys and Girls Clubs of LeFlore County annual dinner. The event was attended by about 300 people, according to Boys and Girls Clubs Executive Director Clay Roper.

The first coaches meeting will be at 1 p.m. March 9 at Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse.

WILBURTON â€” The Eastern Oklahoma State College Mountaineers outscored the Carl Albert State College Vikings 58-24 in the second half in their 89-56 win over the Vikings on Thursday night at Claud C. Dunlap Fieldhouse.
Despite getting 15 points from D. Brown, it wasn't enough for the Carl Albert State College Lady Vikings in their 72-48 loss to the Eastern Oklahoma State College Lady Mountaineers in the first game of Thursday night's doubleheader.
QUINTON â€” After getting road wins Tuesday night at Stigler, the second of two road games this week did not go in favor of the Pocola High School basketball teams.
The Indians and Lady Indians were swept at the hands of the Quinton teams on Thursday night. The Savages got past the Indians 58-45, while the Lady Savages rallied to defeat the Lady Indians 45-42.

The Poteau City Council placed a moratorium on small business buildings Monday night, pending possible changes to zoning laws.
Mayor Jeff Shockley said no specific businesses are being targeted and the move is meant to protect and maintain attractive business districts.
The moratorium affects commercial buildings less than 20 feet wide.
Shockley said the city Planning Commission will be asked to look at zoning requirements and decide if they should be amended.

A Super Bowl party turned violent Sunday night after a man was shot three times at his home.
According to LeFlore County Undersheriff, Kendall Morgan, Robert G. Hamner, 35, was shot three times in the abdomen after a domestic altercation erupted. Hamner and four other people were inside the home on Pleasant Valley Road in Poteau when the shooting occurred.
