MIDWEST CITY â€” Three local high school golfers competed in the 2013 Hudiburg Classic, which took place Monday and Tuesday at John Conrad Golf Course.
In the girls division, Hannah Ward, who repeated as the Class 4A state individual champion earlier this month, finished sixth with a two-round score of 157.
Poteauâ€™s Cody Shore and Cameronâ€™s Kody Whitehead were in the boys division. Shore, who was fourth at the Class 4A State Tournament earlier this month to be the highest Pirate finisher since Zac Pooleâ€™s state runner-up finish in 2004, was ninth with a 151.

It looks like I may actually get to fish for one morning this summer. Chuck Restine and I are looking at going to Lake Tenkiller on Friday morning to catch a few smallmouth before heading to Pittsburg for a couple of baseball games.
Word is that they have been hammering the smallmouth, and there is nothing I like better than catching a few of those bronze beauties. With my schedule, I may not get to fish again till July, so I hope we get to go.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) â€” A judge ordered the pastor of an Oklahoma City church to stand trial on a first-degree murder charge after hearing conflicting testimony from the dead man's wife and girlfriend.
Michael Elder, 53, is accused of shooting Gary Davidson, 27, last Feb. 20. Davidson was married to Elder's daughter April at the time.
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) â€” An Oklahoma City psychiatrist has pleaded guilty to a health care fraud charge.
Federal prosecutors announced Tuesday that 53-year-old Amar Nath Bhandry entered a guilty plea to defrauding the Medicaid program. He could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Bhandry is accused of submitting claims to Medicaid for reimbursement for services he allegedly did not provide. Prosecutors say he charged the program that provides health care to the poor for examinations of up to 50 minutes while seeing patients only 10 to 20 minutes.

According to Lee, this is the 25th year the Methodist Men's Organization has donated to the clinic. The proceeds are raised during the annual spring pancake breakfast held at the First United Methodist Church in Poteau.
GROVE, Okla. (AP) â€” The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says four people from Grove were killed in two separate traffic crashes Tuesday night in northeastern Oklahoma.
The highway patrol says the first crash occurred at about 5:30 p.m. on State Highway 2 near Welch in Craig County. A preliminary report says 77-year-old Donald Charles Kelley and his wife, 76-year-old Nancy Kelley, died when their vehicle went off the road and overturned twice.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
WILBURTON â€” The North and South team split the basketball games during Eastern Oklahoma State Collegeâ€™s 41st annual Kiamichi All-Star Classic on Saturday at Claud C. Dunlap Fieldhouse.
The South girlsâ€™ basketball team pulled off a close 69-67 victory over the North team in the first game of the night.
The boysâ€™ basketball game was also close with an 87-83 North victory.
