HOWE â€” Three LeFlore County teams, host Howe, Arkoma and Whitesboro, all went 1-1 on Thursday in a three-way.
The host Lady Lions downed the Lady Mustangs 7-4 in the final game of the night. Arkoma took the middle game with a come-from-behind 9-5 win in six innings over Whitesboro, which got the day started by blanking Howe 4-0.
TAHLEQUAH â€” For the second straight time, the Tahlequah Lady Tigers downed the Poteau Lady Pirates in their final at-bat.
A run in the seventh inning broke a 2-all tie to lift the Lady Tigers to a 3-2 win over the Lady Pirates on Thursday afternoon.
The Lady Pirates tied the game at 2 in the fifth inning.
Pocola 11, Quinton 3: In Pocola, the Lady Indians rallied from a 3-0 first-inning deficit by scoring in every inning, including a three-run fifth inning to put the game into run-rule status.
The Heavener Lady Wolves had a perfect week at the 2013 LeFlore County Junior High Softball Tournament, capping it with a win over Spiro in the title game Thursday night at the Poteau Area Recreational Complex.
It was the second time on the night the Lady Wolves beat the Lady Bulldogs, which fell to Heavener in Thursday's winner's-bracket finals.
Spiro reached the title game with a victory over the Poteau/Pansy Kidd Middle School Lady Raiders in the loser's-bracket final.
The Lady Raiders finished third as they beat Wister in the loser's-bracket semifinal.
If you liked offense, several of the 2013 season openers for LeFlore County football teams fulfilled your wishes.
The Poteau Pirates outlasted the Durant Lions 43-42 in double overtime for starters.
The Arkoma Mustangs lost a game in which an even 100 points were scored, falling 62-38 to the Keota Lions.
The Talihina Golden Tigers hung 70 points on the Wilburton Diggers in their home opener.
Three teams opened their seasons with wins â€” Poteau, Panama and Talihina. Heavener got its chance Friday night to do the same thing.

There will be a 7-3 coed softball tournament all day next Saturday at the Poteau Area Recreational Complex.
The entry fee is $125 per team. On home runs, three can be hit per game per team.
To purchase the right to hit four additional homers per game is $10 or $50 will give teams an unlimited number of homers.
All funds raised will benefit the Poteau Lady Pirates track team to help pay for expenditures and help purchase equipment.
Men have to use core 44 bats, while women can use any bats.

WISTER â€” The Wister Lady Wildcats softball team hasn't started postseason play, yet the Lady â€™Cats already have a title under their belt.
The Lady Wildcats shut out the Arkoma Lady Mustangs 6-0 to win the 2013 Green Valley Conference fast-pitch softball title.
Talihina 12, Milburn 1; Talihina 8, Stringtown 1: In Kiowa Tournament, the Lady Golden Tigers will play Wilburton at 1:30 this afternoon in the consolation side, and must win four games today to win the tournament.
HOWE â€” The week ended on a high note as the Howe Lions got a run-rule victory over the Whitesboro Bulldogs by a score of 10-2 in six innings Friday afternoon at Lions Field.
Asher 14, Wister 0: In Wister, the Indians hit four home runs, two solo and two three-run shots, as they scored in every inning.
Asher took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, which became 2-0 after two innings and 5-0 after three.
A four-run fourth inning and a five-run fifth inning put the game into run-rule status.
Some LeFlore County fast-pitch softball and baseball teams got good news on Friday from the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association as they were named district tournament hosts for postseason play which will begin later this month.
In softball, Heavener was given a Class 3A District Tournament as it will entertain Spiro in the best-of-3 series.
Three local Class 2A softball teams â€” Panama, Pocola and Wister â€” all were awarded district tournaments.
The Lady Razorbacks, trying to make state for the third straight fall, will entertain the Talihina Lady Golden Tigers.
MULDROW â€” In recent years, the battle of Bulldogs between Muldrow and Spiro has truly been a war. This year was no different as the LeFlore County Bulldogs held on for a 14-12 win Friday night.
