Cause of death in missing Pocola woman unknown

The family of Ruby Poole,74, of Pocola, whose body was discovered Saturday, will most likely never know how she died.
The Pocola Police Department has confirmed the Oklahoma State Medical Examiners Office was unable to determine the cause of death for Ruby Poole, 74, of Pocola.
Poole was reported missing Oct. 18. Poole was last seen the night before walking in the area of North Gray Street and Choctaw Road.
Her body was discovered near the Wells Creek Bridge on Oklahoma Highway 112 by a pedestrian.

Area man injured in accident

A Heavener man is listed in stable condition at an area hospital following a Tuesday night accident.
According to the accident report completed by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Buddy Vaughn, 28, of Heavener, was traveling north on Oklahoma Highway 112 one mile north of Poteau Tuesday night when the accident occurred.
The report shows Sophia Pearson, 47, of Poteau, was driving a 2001 Ford Explorer on a private driveway. She pulled onto the highway and struck Vaugn who was driving a 2003 Honda motorcycle.

Dorothy Louise Dailey, 74, of Spiro, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2012. Private family services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.

Boomers fifth-sixth graders, third-fourth grade Bombers win titles Saturday afternoon in Bandit Bowl IX games

The phrase, “The Killer Bees” could be a good way to describe the Bandit Bowl IX title games Saturday afternoon at Costner Stadium.
The Boomers defeated the Bears 16-6 to win the fifth-sixth grade championship game, while the third-fourth grade title went to the Bombers as they upset the previously-undefeated Bears 20-0.
