SPIRO â€” Despite chilly weather Friday afternoon, the Spiro Bulldogs were able to get to play in the Class 3A Showcase, and didn't let the cold weather affect them as they routed the Hugo Buffaloes 15-0 in a four-inning, run-rule game.
The Bulldogs played Wilburton on Friday night, then will wrap up the event with a noon game Saturday against Beggs. The â€™Dogs were scheduled to face Locust Grove at 2 p.m. Saturday in Springdale, Ark., but the game was canceled.
The Carl Albert baseball team was hoping to hit the field this afternoon in at Ival Goodman Field for a home doubleheader against Rose State College, but Mother Nature had other ideas.
Saturday afternoon's twinbill has been rained out, and it has been rescheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at Ival Goodman Field.
The Vikings (13-8) will return to action in a doubleheader at 1 p.m. Tuesday against Rose State College in Midwest City.
The Vikings' next home action will be a 1 p.m. twinbill on Wednesday at Ival Goodman Field against the Bacone College junior varsity.
The Poteau Lady Pirates have had their game times change in Monday's three-way festival at Red Oak with Muskogee.
The Lady Pirates will play Muskogee at 5:15 p.m., followed by a 6:30 p.m. contest against Red Oak.
Patricia Ann Clark, 74, of Spiro died Thursday, March 21, 2013. Services are planned at 2 p.m. Monday, March 25, at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro.

Vivian Fern â€śMammawâ€ť Kitchens, 84, of Arkoma passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark., after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
There will be at least one day of this week's Class 3A Showcase in Spiro.
There will be four games on today's docket, leading with Beggs vs. Hugo at 1 p.m., then Spiro vs. Hugo at 3 p.m., Wilburton vs. Beggs at 5 p.m. and Spiro vs. Wilburton at 7 p.m.
Also, Spiro's 2 p.m. Saturday game against Locust Grove in Springdale, Ark., has been canceled, and will likely not be rescheduled.
The Poteau Pirates may not have the chance to go undefeated at 5-0 in their own Wood Bat Festival. The Pirates were supposed to have played Fort Smith (Ark.) Northside Friday afternoon, but the game was postponed due to rain and will not be made up.
On a chilly and rainy Thursday at Town Creek Park, the Pirates picked up wins No. 3 and 4 in the festival, blanking the Plainview Indians 3-0 then posting a 10-2, five-inning, run-rule win over the Seminole Chieftains.
CAMERON â€” It was a rough day for LeFlore County teams at this site of the Poteau Wood Bat Festival on Wednesday. Only the Pocola Indians posted a victory, downing Mansfield, Ark., 6-1.
The other three teams took it on the chin. Mansfield outlasted Panama 13-10, Cameron suffered a 15-4 loss to Eufaula and Heavener fell 12-2 to Sallisaw-Central.
The Razorbacks and the Yellowjackets were to have played Smithville on Thursday in the final two games of the last day of action at this site, but Smithville did not show.
BROKEN BOW â€” The Talihina Golden Tigers lost 7-3 to the host Broken Bow Savages in the championship game of the Broken Bow Tournament on Wednesday.
The Golden Tigers ended pool-play action undefeated with a 7-2 win over Stilwell and an 11-3 run-ruled victory over Idabel on Tuesday.
