Peppercorn Mall is the site of this weeks Spring into Business Cash Mob.
Located at 203 Dewey Avenue in downtown Poteau, Peppercorn Mall has been in business for 18 years and buys and sells antiques, collectibles, and gold and silver.
Special to the cash mob, some booths will be marked 25 to 50 percent off and any item marked with a red "X" is automatically half price. Cash Mob pricing is valid from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Wednesday June 27.
It was not a good Sunday afternoon for the Eastern Oklahoma Riverdawgs Major American Legion baseball team.
The Riverdawgs suffered a sweep at the hands of the Bartlesville Indians by scored of 13-2 and 4-3 at Poteau High School's Town Creek Park.
The Riversdawgs will entertain Kerwins at 5:30 p.m. today in a doubleheader at Pamana.
The four-player team of Perry Reed, Josh Wiles, Joe Tackett and Josh Tackett won the Village 2 Village Golf Tournament Saturday at Wolf Ridge Golf Course. The foursome shot a 56.
The quartet of David Jones, Mike Walker, John Coppack and Mark Chamberlin was runner-up with a 59.
Diners at a local restaurant encountered a temporary delay in food service Sunday morning after a narcotics search warrant was served at the establishment. Sources say agents with District 16 Drug Task Force along with the assistance of Poteau Police Department, Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Shady Point Police Department K9â€™s unit swarmed Los 3 Amigos located at 2811 N. Broadway in Poteau at approximately noon on Sunday.
Two people were arrested and an undisclosed amount of methamphetamines
located inside the restaurant was seized by
Roberta Adams, 87, of Poteau died Saturday, June 23, 2012, in Poteau.Â Roberta was born Aug. 25, 1924 in Poteau to Byron and Ersy (Oliver) Plummer. She was a homemaker.Â Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Denver Adams; grandson, Keith Spangler; and her brothers and sisters.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Mattie Adams of Poteau; daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Paul Spangler, Linda and Dean Garrison of Poteau; grandchildren, Heith Williams, Deana Donathan, Jeana Heist and P.D. Spangler; nine great grandchildren; other relatives and loved ones.
Alice Jean Martin, 73, a determined but generous, practical and caring mother and grandmother, died Saturday, June 23, 2012, in Midland, Texas.
Born Aug. 21, 1938, in Leflore to Minnie and Sol Kitchens, Alice was the ultimate civil servant, retiring from the Social Security Administration after many years of faithful service and also following the love of her life, Billy Martin, across the world throughout his 20-plus years of service in the Army.

Poteau Lady Pirate Shelby Standridge will play in the 2012 Sparkler College Exposure All-Star Game Monday night in Westminister, Colo.
Standridge, who plays with the Oklahoma Elite softball team in the summer which went to the World Series last August in Kansas City, Kan., will showcase her talents in both the outfield and at shortstop while representing her team at the Sparkler College Exposure All-Star Tournament.
