Kerr Center: Working for the Ag Community since 1965

April 5, 2013

For over sixty years the name Kerr has been associated with progress, education and sustainability.
Robert S. Kerr was Oklahoma’s first native-born governor, a wealthy oilman and a powerful U.S. senator. But he never forgot the lessons of land stewardship he learned as a boy growing up on a small farm near Ada.
Enchanted with the beauty of southeastern Oklahoma, Senator Kerr came to Le Flore County in the 1950s. He established a ranch and herd of registered Angus.

Toothless in Poteau

April 5, 2013

Last Friday, a group of motorcross riders went to RaceDay Park Mx to ride, since all our kids were out of school for Good Friday. It was a great day with perfect track conditions.
Now, I’m having a little problem with this little 65-feet high jump. I just can’t quite clear it yet. I always land short because I just don’t commit to it because it’s a long jump and, to be honest, I’m a little intimidated by it.

April 4, 2013

My cousin, Jason Sampson, will be my guide and hunting partner for the weekend. We are going to be hunting on Hickory Creek Wildlife Management Area and some private land.

Last weekend was the youth season in many counties, and my buddy, Dean Armstrong, took his son, Jacob, on a hunt. The day was special because it was Jacob’s 14th birthday.
Dean bought a Double Cross call from Stephen Billy of Poteau, and used it to call in a gobbler for Jacob to kill for his birthday bird.
