James Dearld Graham, 26, of Heavener died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, in Poteau. James was born Feb. 12, 1985, in Fort Smith, Ark., to James Gearld and Sherry Sue (White) Graham. James was an auto detailer. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Agnes M. Graham; stepmother, Paula J. Graham, grandfather, Neal White; great-grandparents, Rubin and Polly White; grandparents, Elba and Henry T. Rogers; and stepfather, Alan McCullough.

Ruby L. Ray, 85, of Poteau died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011, in Poteau. She was born Jan. 11, 1926, in Cauthron, Ark, to James David and Minnie Emma Lee (Holmes) Stuart. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and great-aunt.Â
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Burlen Ray; and brother and sister-in-law, J.B. and Florence Stuart.

PRESTON — The seasons did not get started on the right foot for the Wister High School basketball teams last weekend at the Preston Festival.
The Wildcats suffered a 70-56 loss to the Haworth Lions on Saturday, while losing 91-46 to the host Preston Pirates on Friday night.
The same misfortunate came upon the Lady ’Cats as they lost 66-40 to the Lady Lions on Saturday after falling 76-27 to the host Lady Pirates on Friday night.
The 2011 Poteau Pirate Football Banquet will be at 6 p.m. Friday at the Bob Lee Kidd Civic Center.
Tickets cost $20 per person and can be purchased at Sanders and Sullivan Law Office (323 Dewey Avenue), Warehouse Willy's (300 Dewey Avenue), J-N-B Tire and Lube (2201 North Broadway) and First National Bank in Poteau.
Remaining tickets will also be made available at the door Friday night. Seating is limited.
Former Oklahoma Sooner quarterback Paul Thompson will be the keynote speaker.
