As PDN first reported several months ago the LeFlore County District Attorney's Office requested an investigation into former LeFlore County Commissioner Carroll Wayne Rogers. PDN has learned today that OSBI does have an active investigation open into Rogers' actions at the end of his term. If criminal actions are found the charges will be filed in LeFlore County District Court.
ROLAND — The Poteau Bandit League teams ended the season Saturday afternoon by splitting their four games against the Roland Rangers.
The sixth-graders, who have never lost a Bandit League game in their careers, shut out Roland 24-0, while the fifth-graders posted a 14-0 victory.
However, the Rangers won the other two games — taking an 18-12 three-overtime victory in the fourth-grade game and a 12-0 win in the third-grade contest.

Everything has been settled as far as the Arkoma Mustangs are concerned. They will be second in District C-4, which means a home playoff game on Nov. 11.
But the Mustangs (8-1, 5-1 in district play) do not want to go into the postseason on a downer, so they plan on treating Friday night's regular-season finale at 7:30 p.m. on the road against Claremore Christian (3-6, 2-4) as they have in all the games.
After back-to-back losses to Seminole and Valliant, the Spiro Bulldogs did not look like the postseason was something they could reach. But after last week's home regular-season finale 23-7 victory over the Atoka Wampus Cats at McClain Stadium, the ’Dogs still have a chance to return to the Class 3A playoffs.
The first thing which has to happen is the Bulldogs (4-5, 3-3 in District 3A-8) must win their 7:30 p.m. Friday game on the road against the Stigler Panthers (8-1, 5-1) — who have already clinched second place in the district behind district champion Seminole (9-0, 6-0).
There will be a 3-on-3 basketball tournament Nov. 12 at the Panama High School Gym.
Entry fee for the event is $80 per team, which will have a limit to a four-player roster. The deadline to enter is Nov. 4, and all proceeds will benefit the Panama High School basketball teams. For additional information, call (918) 963-2333.

The Deanna J. Reed Science and Math Center nears completion of the external construction phase Tuesday morning as employees with Oak Ridge Builders place the name above the main entry.
The Carl Albert State College expansion project began earlier in the year and through a record snowfall winter and extreme summer heat wave progress continued as scheduled.
This Saturday November 5th at the Peter Conser Home. A fun day has been planned for all ages, Quilts displayed in the house, Tractors on display what a site to see. A 1946 Hay Press will be on display and working, the hay press used 8-10 people to run the machine which was a time saver compared to the number of hands required to stack hay in the fields and then bring in wagons to the barn. There will also be entertainment throughout the day at the annual event that brings travelers from all over to LeFlore County. The line-up's for that entertainment will be announced later today.
EDMOND — The Poteau Lady Pirates and Pirates cross country runners wanted to run their best races of the season in Saturday afternoon's Class 4A State Meet at Mitch Park. For the most part, they did.
Most of, if not all, Poteau runners equaled or bettered their personal-best times of the season.
