In late January, David Holt, Carl Albert State College softball coach, signed Poteau’s Brenna Vise to play for his Lady Vikings. Add four more local players to that fold.
Holt signed Vise’s teammate, Kaylee Kingrey, and Wister’s Bryanna Warren on Tuesday morning. On the same day Vise signed, Holt signed Spiro’s Kaylee Cox and Braylin Gray.
“It shows how well LeFlore County softball is going,” he said. “I think we got some quality players and quality kids. We thought we were going to get two more girls, but we didn’t get them. So, there was even more than what we were expecting to get.”

CASC baseball team opens 2013 season this afternoon

February 5, 2013

The 2013 baseball season will begin at 12:30 this afternoon for the Carl Albert State College Vikings with a doubleheader against the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Ark.
“We like our team,” said Mark Pollard, who is entering his 31st year as coach of the Vikings and who got his 900th coaching victory last season. “This club won’t be intimidated because we have enough veterans, and better talent level, to compete. We’re excited. This club has a chance. The potential is there. We won 37 games last year. This club has a chance for more wins, and pitch better, than that club did.”
