Holiday Week of Hoops

The National Weather Service in Tulsa is predicting snow for Christmas in eastern Oklahoma. The NWS lists every county in the state as either under a winter storm warning or winter storm watch.
LeFlore County is currently under a winter storm warning.
The National Weather Service expects significant snowfall in eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas.
According to the NWS, precipitation will begin as rain before mixing with sleet and transitioning to snow early Christmas morning. The snow is expected to continue to fall through Christmas night.
HARTSHORNE â€” Christmas came five days early for the Pocola High School basketball teams as they each won their road game Thursday night against Hartshorne.
The Indians handled the Miners 65-48 right after the Lady Indians entered Christmas break with a 50-38 victory over the Lady Miners.
MULDROW â€” The Spiro High School basketball teams split their Thursday night road games in a battle of Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs.
LeFlore Countyâ€™s Bulldogs won the boys game as Spiro got past Muldrow 75-64, but Sequoyah Countyâ€™s Lady Bulldogs prevailed in the girls contest as Muldrow beat Spiro 67-57.
Sunday Couple Scrambles at Wolf Ridge Golf Course will take place at 2 p.m. Sundays. The entry fee is $15 per person for the nine-hole weekly event.

The 2012 PIT Camp 3-on-3 Winter Classic basketball tournament will take place next Saturday at the Wister High School Gymnasium.
The entry fee is $10 per player, with no team having more than four players.
ROLAND â€” The Poteau High School basketball teams entered the Christmas break on a sour note Thursday night as they both suffered road conference losses to Roland.
The Rangers were too much for the Pirates in posting an 85-52 victory, while the night began with the Lady Rangers defeating the Lady Pirates 61-44.
The Poteau Pirates wrestling team finally got a chance to display its talents in front of the home fans Thursday night at Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse, and the Pirates did not disapppoint their patrons.
The Pirates came out and dominated the Quinton Savages en route to a 63-8 victory.
The Pirates will be off until 2013 when they will participate in the Cushing Tournament, which will take place Jan. 4-5. However, not too long afterwards is a big triangular with Sallisaw and Wagoner, which will take place 6 p.m. Jan. 17 at Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse to conclude the Class 4A District Duals.
ROGERS, Ark. â€” The Poteau Youth Wrestling Club was well represented, and several medaled, at last weekendâ€™s Rogers Rumble. The organization took 26 wrestlers and placed 19 of them.
Of those 19 placers, three won their respective weight classes â€” Jack Egbert (Division I), Luke Brooks (Division II) and Walker Snapp (Division IV) â€” while Wyatt Snapp was runner-up in Division V.
Tyler Simkins and Hagen Rahm were third in Division I, while Gavin Morgan and Braxton Sisco were third in Division II.
