While the margins of victory were different in the Heavener-Muldrow basketball teams' games on the first day of the Poteau Freshmen Tournament, which took place Monday at Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse, the same team won. A late surge by the Bulldogs lifted them to a 40-29 victory over the Wolves, but the Lady Wolves were totally outmatched by the Lady Bulldogs in Muldrow's 45-10 victory.
The rest of the opening-round games took place Tuesday night at Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse as host Poteau faced Spiro's teams.
CAMERON â€” The Cameron High School basketball teams return from their Thanksgiving break to play on their newly refurbished floor Mondy night against Gans at the Cameron Gym.
The Yellowjackets stung the Grizzlies 68-59 in overtime, but the Lady Grizzlies literally ran the Lady â€™Jackets into the ground as they won 63-46.
Behind four double-figure scorers and good defense,Â the Carl Albert State College Lady Vikings won 76-55 and picked up the sweep of their two-game series against the host Penn Valley, Mo., in the Marcus Harvey Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Kansas City, Mo.

The 2012-13 basketball seasons will begin tonight for the Pocola Lady Indians and Indians at home against Stigler. The girls will tip off at 6:30 p.m., followed by the boys at 8 p.m.

Wow!! I did not write a column last week, but what about the Sooners and the victories they have had the last two weeks. I know they were very ugly wins, but I only have one thing to say about that â€” I would rather win ugly than lose ugly. I am of the belief that the game against Texas Christian is going to be the same kind of game.

TALIHINA â€” Talihinaâ€™s season came to a close at the Doc Robinson Stadium on Friday night as the Cashion Wildcats used a first-quarter salvo and a fourth-quarter knockout punch to defeat the Tigers 42-24.
