CAMERON â€” The Cameron Yellowjackets baseball team ran its record to 3-0 with a doubleheader sweep Friday night over the McCurtain Bulldogs by scores of 11-3 and 9-1.
Buffalo Valley 10, Whitesboro 6: In Bufalo Valley, the Buffaloes rallied from a 4-3 deficit in the third inning with a seven-run third inning to take a 10-4 lead.
RED OAK â€” The Wister Wildcats baseball team got its first win of the fall season Friday afternoon with a 9-0 run-rule victory over the Rock Creek Mustangs. However, it ended up being their only win on the weekend as they lost 2-0 to Byng and 7-4 to host Red Oak on Saturday.
COLEMAN â€” The Leflore Savages baseball team suffered a pair of losses Friday in the Coleman Festival.
The Savages lost 9-1 to the Caney Cougars, then fell 10-0 to the host Coleman Wildcats. The Savages were to have played the Bennington Bears Saturday morning, but the Bears were a no-show.
Carl Albert State College Assistant Softball Coach Megan Young will give softball lessons at $25 per hour to girls up through age 18.

Alvin Sherdan Decker, 83, of Bokoshe died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at United Methodist Church in Bokoshe under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home, Spiro.
Patsy G. Bottoms,75, of Poteau died Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark.
Adrian Smith, 63, of Shady Point died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark. Adrian was born Sept. 2, 1948 in Stillwater to Farley Deshong Smith and Odessa (Johnson) Smith. Adrian was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam. He was the past mayor of Shady Point for more than 10 years. Adrian was preceded in death by his father.
The Tanguay family of Poteau are lovers of dirt tracks and motor sports. So when the opportunity to open Raceday Park east of Poteau to provide a riding experience for local families, they couldn't wait to start.
"It's a passion of ours to give families a place to ride," said Jace Tanguay, owner of RDP. "It has been three years in the making but it is now open."
Jace and his sons Triston, 12, and Trace,19, are all avid riders who compete and ride for fun. His wife Sheila is responsible for coordinating races and events at RDP.
The Panama Police Department is investigating the murder of the police departments K9, Creed, who was Officer Andy Bevil's partner.
According to Bevil, on Aug. 5 he and his family returned from church and when he went to feed and water his partner he found him dead from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
The two-year-old German Shepard was purchased by the department in August 2011 and has been Bevil's partner ever since.
A memorial service for Creed is scheduled Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Panama First Baptist Church located at 107 Jones St.
