Abbott Barnes â€śHapâ€ť Sykes, age 87, of Odessa, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at home on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, after a short illness preceded by a severe stroke on Aug. 24, 2004. He lost his ability to converse but remained upbeat and cheerful.
The youngest of nine children, Hap was born to Abbott Barnes Sykes Sr., and Samantha Taylor Sykes in Barber, Ark. He was raised mostly by his sisters following the death of his mother when he was 2 years old and attended country schools near Panama.
Clifford Oliver Harris, 94, of Indianapolis, Ind., formerly of Monroe died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012 in Indianapolis. He was born March 11, 1918, in Monroe to William Thomas and Ollie Josephine (Pounds) Harris. Clifford was a veteran of the Merchant Marines. He was an aircraft electronic technician for 30 years. He was a member and past master of the J.C. Pelt Masonic Lodge in Duncanville, Texas.
Reba Doris Anderson, 92, of Heavener died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, in Tulsa.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at First United Methodist Church in Heavener. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home.
Mazil O. White, 86, of Tahlequah died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, in Tahlequah.

A brief blast of snow blew threw the county Friday afternoon as part of a small winter storm crossing the southern portion of the state.
According to LeFlore County Emergency Management Director Michael Davidson, the storm is expected to be out of the area by 6 p.m.
Davidson said the county is under no watches or warnings at this time and the next chance of precipitation is expected Monday. Snow is expected in the Monday storm for areas north of Interstate 40 and rain south of the interstate.

Debra Lynn Embrey McDonough, 56, of Lowell, Ark., died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, in Rogers, Ark.
Debra was born Oct. 26, 1956 in Houston to Eldred and Beverly Jean (Caldwell) Embrey. She was an English professor in Alfred and Wellsville, N.Y. In addition, she taught junior high and high school at Immaculate Conception in Wellsville, N.Y., and Bristow High School in Bristow. Debra was preceded in death by her father.
Dym Falkner, 95, of Panama died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark. Dym was born March 16, 1917, in Spiro, to James E. and Ruth E. (Laughlin) Brown. She was a homemaker.
Dym is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Elmer G. Falkner; two daughters, Joyce Fife and Ann Howard; a son Danny Falkner; two brothers and two sisters.
Charles G. Tobler, 90, of Spiro died Tuesday, Dec. 25.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, in the Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Spiro City Cemetery.
