USRA A Modified Race
The Wolf Ridge Junior Golf Clinic will take place this afternoon as well as the next Wednesday afternoon at Wolf Ridge Country Club.
The clinic is open to youth ages 5 and older. The clinic for ages 5 to 17 will be from 4 to 5 p.m. every Wednesday for the next four weeks. Cost is $10 per golfer per session.
The clinic for ages 18 and older will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. every Wednesday for four weeks. Cost is $20 per golfer per session.

The foursome of Kale Holton, Jeremy Crites and Pam and Bonnie Harless won the 2014 Poteau Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament on Monday afternoon at Wolf Ridge Country Club.
The tournament had 42 two-man teams in the field.
Kendrick Hardaway was named the 2014 Oklahoma Coaches Association High School Athlete of the Year. He will receive a scholarship from the Oklahoma Coaches Association to attend the college of his choice this fall. Although it is rare to participate in many sports at a large high school, Hardaway has excelled in four sports throughout his career at Poteau High School.
Ceb Scott wins District 3 County Commissioners race. After the votes were counted Scott received 62.6 per cent of the vote over Roger Cheek.
A run-off for LeFlore County Assessor will be between Brenda Cockburn and Mindy White neither getting the mandatory 51 per cent of the vote on Tuesday. Run-off voting will be in August.
Jacob Cannon Freeman, infant, died Sunday, June 22, 2014.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, in New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Alta Wilson, 83, of Spiro died June 23, 2014, in Midwest City. She was born March 11, 1931, in Keota to Henry Madison and Fairy Syuillar (Renis) Brammer. She was a homemaker.Â
She is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, John E. Wilson; two sons, Donald Ray Miller and Jerry Wilson; brother, John Brammer; and sister Lillie Byrd.
