Poteau softball senior signs with Carl Albert

April 6, 2012

Carl Albert State College Softball Coach David Holt was pretty sure he would sign all three of Poteau High School's senior players. While it took perhaps a little longer than thought, as of Wednesday afternoon he had them all in the fold.
Poteau senior Meagan Ryburn signed her letter of intent with Carl Albert Wednesday afternoon in the high school's foyer.
Earlier this year, Ryburn's teammates Natalee King and Briley Benson inked letters with CASC, and that, for starters, made Carl Albert the choice to play college softball for the Lady Pirate senior.

Pocola, Leflore stave off elimination at Leflore County Baseball Tournament; Rain washes out three of Tuesday's games, which were played before championship semifinals on Wednesday

April 5, 2012

SPIRO — Mother Nature didn't quite get all of the 2012 LeFlore County Baseball Tournament on Tuesday
While both games at Panama were rained out and the last game here between Pocola and Leflore was washed out due to Tuesday's rain, two games were played here before the showers arrived.
The Indians and the Savages staved off elimination as Pocola blanked Bokoshe 12-0 and Leflore run ruled Arkoma 11-1.
Wednesday saw five games played here, including all three games which were rained out Tuesday.
Pocola and Leflore played, followed by Howe and Panama with that winner meeting Heavener.
