Icie Mae Stacy, 92, of Hodgen died Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, in Heavener.
She was born July 30, 1920, in Wright City.
She was a members of thee First Baptist Church in Hodgen, active in Heavener Senior Citizens, worked for the U.S. Forest Service and was a home provider.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Newton and Josephine Lloyd; husband, James â€śO.B.â€ť Stacy; a daughter, Deliphene Caughern; three brothers, Walt, Utah and Paul Lloyd; and four sisters, Ivy Poor, Rener Saulter, Robie Kinsworthy and Dolly West.
Carole Jane (Jackson) Gordon, 68, of Vian was born Dec. 18, 1943, in Dardanelle, Ark., to Hollis and Bonnie (Farris) Jackson. She died Saturday, Aug. 4, in Vian.
Carole is survived by her husband, Mike, of the home; one daughter, Jane Peters of Poteau; two sons, Jeff Price of Poteau; and Jeff Gordon of Broken Arrow; four grandchildren, Jessica Gray and her husband, Chris, Whitney Spangler, Choee and Tyler Gordon; one great-granddaughter, Mya Faith Gray; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Mark Allan Price; and one sister, Janelle Young.
James Junior Hanna, 72, of Panama died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, inÂ Fort Smith, Ark.Â James was born Aug. 11, 1939, in Williams to Arthur and Muriel Hanna.Â James was a retired mechanical technician with Gerber Inc. in Fort Smith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma; his parents; and sister, Irene Hodges.
Brant Lee Cassell, infant son of Joshua Lee and Summer Sears Cassell passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012 in Talihina.
Jo Anne Sebo, 71, of Spiro died Sunday Aug. 5, 2012. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at First Baptist Church of Spiro under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
David P. Burch, 64, of Shady Point died July 27, 2012, in Fayetteville, Ark.Â Private services will be held later at Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau.
Perry Lant Brown, 55, of Spiro, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2012. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, in Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel, Spiro.
A Poteau mam is free on bond after he beat a man with a pool stick in a case of mistaken identity.
Michael Todd Thompson, 48, of Poteau, was charged with assault and battery with great bodily injury Saturday after he allegedly beat Christopher Thomas, 38, in the head with a pool stick.
According to the arrest report, Thompson believed Thomas was another man who had set his parents rental property on fire. When Thomas left the bar, Thompson followed him and struck him multiple times.
Monday afternoon fire departments in LeFlore and Haskell County were kept busy after five different grass fires were started along Milton and County Line Road between Bokoshe and McCurtain.
According to Emergency Management Director Michael Davidson, the fires began approximately 3 p.m. and the last reported at 4:40 p.m. Two vehicles, a white Chevy pickup and a white Ford Explorer were seen by witnesses in the area at the time of the fires.
