COLLINSVILLE â€” Heavener High School cross country runner Jose Farias made the Top 15 at Thursday's Collinsville Invitational. He placed 13th with a time of 18:14 on a 5,000-meter course.
As a team, the Wolves placed eighth with 193 points, finishing behind Tahlequah (44 points), Skiatook (62), Mannford (89), host Collinsville (100), Cleveland (121), Tulsa East Central (149) and Miami (151).
After Farias, Arturo Ortega was 35th (19:36), Octavio Sanchez was 73rd (22:53), James Cinocca was 82nd (23:39) and Michael Bobo was 94th (27:30).
BRAGGS â€” The Arkoma Lady Mustangs ended the regular season in fine fashion Thursday afternoon with a doubleheader sweep of the Braggs Lady Wildcats by scores of 10-0 and 10-2.
Buffalo Valley 4, Whitesboro 3: Friday in Whitesboro, the Lady Bulldogs led 3-1 after two innings, but the Lady Buffaloes scored once in the third inning and twice in the fifth inning to snatch the win away.

Garett Ford, 17, of Hartford, Ark., has passionately been playing the game of golf for more than half his life. Each year, he has proven that he is a force to be reckoned with on the green.
With him, each step of the way has been his devoted family, father, Gary, and mother, Sharon â€” both giving 110 percent support to their son, and his love for the game. However, that changed this year.

Donna Jean (Rogers) Shaw, 76, of Poteau died Thursday, September 13, 2012, in Oklahoma City after a lengthy illness.Â Donna was born June 20, 1936, in Tacoma, Wash. She was a devoted mother, loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She always had a love for writing and for music.
