The first of two LeFlore County Basketball Tournaments ended its weeklong run Saturday night with the Pansy Kidd Middle School teams sweeping the titles. Congratulations to the Raiders and Lady Raiders.
After an “off” week (if you want to call it that as it will be filled with high school and Carl Albert State College basketball as well as high school wrestling), the 2012 LeFlore County Tournament will begin Monday at three sites — host Bokoshe, Heavener and Spiro, with the latter site the host for the finals.

Howe JV 34, Pocola 27: In Howe, the Lady Lion junior varsity, which played instead of the varsity due to the two games the Lady Lions played in the Panama Holiday Festival, rallied from a 9-6 deficit after one period to get the come-from-behind victory.
Panama 42, Haileyville 30: In Haileyville, the Lady Razorbacks (3-5) jumped out to a 16-0 lead after one period and never looked back as they had as much as a 22-point lead in the second quarter.

In the first game for the Vikings of the second semester, they lost 76-47 on Friday evening to the host West Plains.
