Community Pep Rally Thursday

The Poteau Pirate Community Pep Rally will be held Thursday, August 13, at the Donald W. Reynolds Center starting at 6 p.m.

Activities will include $5 burger baskets with chips and drink and $5 bounce house and slide (jump all you want).

New Poteau football shirts will be available.

The community will be introduced to the Poteau High School marching band, youth football teams and cheerleaders, junior high football teams and cheerleaders, high school football team, cheerleaders and silver steppers and have an autograph and photo session where you can meet the Pirates.

TAHLEQUAH — The Poteau Lady Pirates were able to only muster one hit in Tuesday’s 9-0 loss to the Tahlequah Lady Tigers.
Heavener 8, Howe 0; Heavener 14, Leflore 0; Howe 17, Leflore 4: Tuesday in Heavener, the Lady Wolves won both games in their home openers.
Spiro 8, Wister 3: Tuesday in Wister, the Lady Bulldogs opened their season victoriously by breaking a 3-all tie with a single run in the third inning and four runs in the fifth — highlighted by Shakyrah Gladness’ grand-slam home run.

The Mark Reichert era got underway at Pocola in fine fashion as his new team, the Pocola Lady Indians, opened their 2015 fast-pitch softball season with a 17-9 road win over the Poteau Lady Pirates on Monday afternoon.
With the game tied at 4 after six innings, the Lady Indians erupted with 13 runs in the seventh inning, aided by five Poteau errors, to take a 17-4 lead.
Cameron 10, Crowder 3: In Cameron, Cameron pitcher Dakotha Battice struck out seven batters and allowed only one earned run as the Lady Yellowjackets got their fall season off and flying.

Whitesboro rally lifts Bulldogs past Smithville for season-opening win
