The Carl Albert State College softball team went a perfect 4-0 during its two-day Carl Albert Festival on Friday and Saturday.
The Lady Vikings ended the two-day event with a 3-2 win over North Central Missouri and a 1-0 victory over Southwest Tennessee on Saturday after downing Southwest Tennessee 3-1 and North Central Missouri 2-0 on Friday.
Wednesdayâ€™s home doubleheader with Coffeyville, Kan., has been moved to 1 p.m. Thursday due to wet fields.
MOYERS â€” The Whitesboro High School basketball teams swept the Class B District Tournament title games Saturday night with wins over Caney.
The Lady Bulldogs, who stayed alive in the playoffs with a 48-30 victory over the host team, Moyers, on Friday night, rallied from a third-quarter deficit to down the Lady Cougars 58-55 in the championship game.
The â€™Dogs routed the Cougars 59-28 in their district title contest as both Whitesboro teams will play Thursday night against Pittsburg in Bennington in the Class B Regional Tournament.
It was a happy homecoming for the Spiro High School basketball teams Friday night at the Spiro Multipurpose Gym as they swept their county rivals from Poteau on the hardwood.
For the third time this year, the Bulldogs took a close game and pulled away late to post a 65-56 victory over the Pirates. The Lady Bulldogs completed a sweep of the Lady Pirates as they posted a 47-38 win.
HOWE â€” The Howe Lady Lions celebrated Senior Night with a 53-42 victory over the Quinton Lady Savages on Friday night at the Howe Gym.
The Lady Lions, leading 25-22 at halftime, outscored the Lady Savages 20-5 in the third quarter to take a 45-27 lead into the final period.
Heavener 46, Stigler 31: In Stigler, the Lady Wolves led 8-4 after a period, 21-14 at halftime and 35-26 after three periods.
Pocola 57, Hartshorne 35: In Hartshorne, trailing 15-12 after a period, the Lady Indians outscored the Lady Miners 16-3 in the second quarter to take a 28-18 halftime lead.
WILBURTON â€” The Talihina Golden Tigers bounced back from last Tuesday nightâ€™s heartbreaking overtime loss to the Hartshorne Miners by routing the Wilburton Diggers 49-29 Friday night at the Wilburton Gym.
The Golden Tigers jumped out to a 10-4 lead after a quarter, only to see the Diggers cut the deficit to 21-17 at halftime.
In the third quarter, Talihina outscored Wilburton 18-8 to take a 39-25 lead into the final period.
Quinton 44, Howe 41: In Howe, the Savages jumped out to a 7-4 lead en route to a 20-12 halftime advantage to spoil Senior Night for the Lions.
Weâ€™ll be in full-blown high school basketball playoff mode beginning on Thursday as the 23 remaining LeFlore County teams will be in postseason mode. Class A and B regional tournaments will begin on Thursday, loserâ€™s-bracket action in the afternoon and winnerâ€™s-bracket contests at night.
The Class 2A playoffs will begin Friday night with elimination games in district tournaments at Howe, Talihina and Haworth as all losers will be ousted from the postseason parade. District titles games will be on Saturday night, with both teams advancing to the following weekâ€™s regional tournaments.
The Class B playoffs could not have started any better for the Leflore High School basketball teams than they did Saturday night on Nadine Carpenter Court. Both Leflore teams beat Bokoshe's squads to win the Class B District Tournament.
The Lady Savages got past the Lady Tigers 62-50, while the Savages were too much for the depleted Tigers in a 73-24 victory.
All four teams will advance to this week's Class B Regional Tournament at Calvin on Thursday and Wilburton on Friday and Saturday.

Due to late Sunday/early Monday morning wintry precipitation, all of tonightâ€™s basketball games were canceled.
The Carl Albert State College road games against Murray State will take place at 6 and 8 p.m. Tuesday at MSCâ€™s Beames Fieldhouse in Tishomingo.
Tonightâ€™s Wilburton-Panama games were rescheduled for 6 and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Panama Gym.
ARKOMA â€” The Arkoma Lady Mustangs and the Cameron Yellowjackets captured Class A District Tournament titles Saturday night at the Arkoma Gym. The Lady Mustangs beat the Keota Lady Lions 68-49, while the â€™Jackets got past the homestanding Mustangs 64-45. All four teams advance to this week's Class A Regional Tournament at Antlers on Thursday and Kiowa on Friday and Saturday.
In Friday night's elimination game, the Cameron Lady Yellowjackets and the Keota Lions saw their seasons end. The Lady â€™Jackets fell 40-23 to Keota, while the Lions suffered a 55-50 loss to Arkoma.
