The Heavener Bi-State Holiday Festival will be Monday and Tuesday the newly refurbished Heavener Gym.

Panama's Ches Brown won his first Poteau Daily Newsâ€™ Pigskin Picks Contest of the season last week, going 7-3 and winning the tie-breaker â€” which was the score between Indianapolis and Dallas last Sunday, which was won by the Cowboys 42-7. Brown won $25 for his winning ballot.
The Week 19 ballot for next weekendâ€™s contest will be in Tuesdayâ€™s edition. That ballot will need to be turned in by noon Wednesday to be eligible for that weekâ€™s $25 prize-winning check since there will be New Year's Day college games on it.
William Walker Rogers, 95, of Claremore died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014.

Ricky Clyde Jernigan, 62, of Poteau died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, in Oklahoma City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, at the First Free Will Baptist Church, Poteau. Burial will be in Summerfield Cemetery under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home.
Salud â€śSallyâ€ť James, 94, of Poteau died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, in Poteau.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at Evans and Miller Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with burial in James Cemetery at Calhoun. Family visitation will be at 2 p.m. before the service.
Hulan Arville Mosley Jr., 70, of Cameron died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, in Fort Smith, Ark.
Hulan was born Nov. 28, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas, to Hulan A. Sr. and Christine M. (Boatman) Mosley. He worked for more than 30 years with the Union Pacific Railroad. Hulan enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
James C. â€śJ.C.â€ť Holton, 77, of Poteau died Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, in Pocola.
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) â€” A 5 million-pound dome placed atop the Oklahoma Capitol 12 years ago is already exhibiting cracking in its exterior cast stone panels, although building officials say there are no structural problems or evidence of weakness in the dome's supports.
"Cracks exist at a total of 172 units, or approximately 10 percent of all cast stone units on the dome. Most of the cracks occur at the base of the dome," stated a report by Wiss, Janner, Elstner Associates, or WJE, a Chicago company that did a detailed examination of the building's exterior as a prelude to repair work.
The Talihina Golden Tigers had their second straight undefeated regular season on the gridiron, and made it back to the Class A state semifinals. Needless to say, the Golden Tigers dominated the individual top District A-8 honors.
Senior quarterback Alan Lockhart was named the District A-8 Player of the Year, but the individual honors didnâ€™t stop there.
The Poteau High School alumni basketball games will take place Saturday afternoon at Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse.
The girlsâ€™ game will be at noon, followed by the boysâ€™ contest at 1 p.m.
The teams will be odd-year graduates vs. even-year graduates in each game.
Admission is $3 with no charge to players.

The Stars softball team will have a tournament Jan. 3 at Fort Smith (Ark.) Darby Junior High School.
The tournament is open to boys and girls in grades three through six.
The entry fee is $100 per team.
