I am sure you have heard the saying "He'd be unhappy if he were hung with a new rope!" In the business that I'm in I deal with people on a daily basis that saying could be applied to. And then you have those who at the first sign of a problem will darn near break their own finger trying to point it at someone else. You know the folks who's fault it never is. Even in an instance where who is to blame doesn't really matter they want to find someone to blame just to show that it doesn't lie with them.
I have recently gotten all caught up in the administrative duties that come with my job and have gotten away from posting my weekly blog. For the seven of you who read it regularly I apologize. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that at least one person noticed. I myself have missed being able to let loose in this space. I find it is the thing about the website that I like the most.

A special thing occurs among many co-workers in law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services. It is a bond, created by protecting each other in the field, working side by side sharing both happy and tragic times. A particularly tight-knit group of local law enforcement, as we were back in the day, lost a valuable, lovable friend and fellow officer four years ago to a horrible car accident that left his many friends and family reeling from the loss.
"I hear the train a coming,"
Not only do I hear the train, but I can almost see it and the wreck that it is going to cause. Don't you just hate it when you can see the disaster on the horizon and though you have tried to stop it there is nothing else that can be done. Guess it's time to break out the popcorn and simply sit back and watch the show.
I realize that is cryptic but everyone once in a while I like it that way. It gives all the paranoid people an opportunity to decide that everything is all about them!
Dear Editor,
I would like to let LeFlore County and the surrounding area know how much I appreciate the wonderful treatment and care I was given by the physicians and the entire staff of Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center.
The staff is professional, kind, understanding, encouraging, compassionate and demonstrated their total commitment into caring for me. I could not have asked for better treatment.
I hadn't planned to go to work early that night. My shift didn't start until 10. It was a Friday night and I had gone to Fort Smith to eat with my family. When we were done I decided to go on into work. My best friend worked on Friday nights as well. The running joke between us was who would be running the latest for work on Friday nights. That night she was early too. She hit the dispatch floor at 9:25, about the time the first officer arrived on scene. I ran into the madness less than 5 minutes later.
It has been a while since I have posted a weekly blog. I have to admit the hiatus was about self preservation. When I write for the paper I automatically sensor myself. I strive to ensure, even in a personal column, I am careful with my words. Blogging however is a different beast entirely. The thought pops into my head and flies through my fingers. It is one of the reasons I enjoy the blog so much. However, recently I have found myself in an odd place personally and didn't want those feelings to be reflected in the blog.
Well, after a month of research and planning I am sitting here at midnight after a very long Friday getting ready to get the first copy of the special section we created for the Chamber Banquet next week. The tab, which is titled 100 Years Strong, has been the bane of my existence today but I will admit it's been a fun piece to prepare for. I am a great big old history nerd so the hours I spent looking in our stacks and the old clippings the chamber graciously lent us, was something I considered fun.

This week someone said something to me that I have never heard before.
"Hey, I read your blog."
I had never actually heard anyone say that aloud. Now when I log on to the website with my user name and password I can see the number of views that a given entry has received so I knew that people have viewed this blog but to be honest I figured it was just my family trying to run up the actual numbers to make me feel good.
