The combination of Hannah Gilliam and Hallie Harper were dominating on Friday afternoon as the Spiro Lady Bulldogs swept the Keys (Park Hill) Lady Cougars 4-0 and 8-0 to win the Class 3A District Tournament.
Gilliam threw a no-hitter with three strikeouts in seven innings in the opener, while Harper threw a four-hitter with eight strikeouts in six innings.
WISTER â€” The Class A District Tournament had to go to the if-game before a champion was crowned, but the Cameron Yellowjackets outlasted the host Wister Wildcats 2-1 in the winner-take-all game Friday night to win the championship.
The Wildcats, who lost 3-1 to the Yellowjackets on Thursday, forced the if-game on Friday by taking the first game of the day 8-1.
HEAVENER â€” Two crucial turnovers in the third quarter proved to be the difference makers as the Eufaula Ironheads rallied from a halftime deficit to down the Heavener Wolves 17-14 to spoil homecoming and the home opener for the locals Friday night at Harvey Stadium.
SASAKWA â€” The Bokoshe Tigers are still looking for their first win of the season.
The Sasakwa Vikings handled the Tigers 54-0 in a game that ended by the mercy rule.
The Tigers dropped to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in District C-4 play, while the Vikings improved to 2-2 overall and 1-2 in district play.
SPIRO â€” In a battle of unbeatens Friday night at McClain Stadium, the Spiro Bulldogs got past the Roland Rangers 32-21 in the District 3A-8 opener for both teams.
After trending by 11 at halftime, the Bulldogs (4-0 overall, 1-0 in district play) exploded with 20 second-half points and shut out the Rangers (3-1, 0-1) in the final half.
TALIHINA â€” In the past couple of seasons, the Talihina-Savanna game has been a tight one, and has had its hand in determining the District A-6 champion. It probably did so again Friday night at Doc Robinson Stadium, but it was anything but tight.
The Golden Tigers scored the gameâ€™s first 34 points en route to a 66-14 rout of the Bulldogs.

The Poteau Pirates started their district quest off with a resounding 38-13 victory over the Muldrow Bulldogs to celebrate homecoming Friday night at Costner Stadium.
The Pirates (2-2 overall, 1-0 in District 4A-4 play) scored at will in the opening half, and then coasted home as their full roster got playing time in the second half.
