HOWE — Cameron pitcher Dillon Jackson struck out 12 batter and threw a one-hitter as the Yellowjackets defeated the Howe Lions 4-0 Tuesday afternoon at Lions Field.
Jackson allowed only a single to Howe’s Chase Blake for his only blemish on the day.
The ’Jackets scored once in the second inning, twice in the fourth inning and once in the fifth inning.
Wister 10, Buffalo Valley 2: Tuesday in Wister, Wister pitcher Scotty Gibson got his first win of the season as he threw a four-hitter with 13 strikeouts.

Howe girls split four games at last weekend's Robbers Cave Shootout; Cameron girls go 1-2

WILBURTON — The Howe Lady Lions softball team went 2-2 in its four games last weekend in the Robbers Cave Shootout. The Lady Lions beat Cameron 4-1 and Keota 7-6, but lost 12-2 to host Wilburton and 3-1 to Wetumka.
The Lady Yellowjackets went 1-2 in the event. After losing to Howe, the Lady ’Jackets split two games with Wetumka, winning 6-4 but losing 5-1.
Editor's note: Arkoma was scheduled to be in the event, but no results from any of their games in the Shootout were reported by press time.

Heavener girls beat Anadarko, Comanche in Hall of Fame Shootout on Friday; Spiro girls beat Prague, Lexington, Velma-Alma; Pocola girls defeat Lexington but suffer losses to Okemah, Wayne

SHAWNEE — The Heavener Lady Wolves spent their off day Friday from the two-day Oktaha Tournament playing in the Hall of Fame Shootout, which took place at the Ballfields at Firelake, and won both their games. The Lady Wolves beat Anadarko 12-3 and Comanche 10-0.
The Spiro Lady Bulldogs went 3-0 in the event, defeating Prague 3-0 on Friday, and Lexington 4-1 and Velma-Alma 4-3 on Saturday.
The Pocola Lady Indians went 1-2 in the event, beating Lexington 10-3 on Saturday, but losing to Okemah 4-1 on Friday and Wayne 6-0 on Saturday.

Heavener, Panama girls split games on final day of Oktaha Tournament with Sallilsaw-Central, Vian

OKTAHA — Both the Heavener Lady Wolves and the Panama Lady Razorbacks split their final two games Saturday in the Oktaha Tournament, both beating and losing to the same teams.
Both locals teams beat Sallisaw-Central, Heavener shutting out the Lady Tigers 10-0 while Panama beating them 8-2.
However, both the Lady Wolves and the Lady ’Backs fell to Vian. The Lady Wolverines beat Heavener 2-0 and Panama 8-3.

RED OAK — The Poteau Lady Pirates split their two games in Monday's road three-way, beating Savanna 3-0 but losing 4-0 to host Red Oak.
In Poteau's win over Savanna, the Lady Pirates broke a scoreless tie with a three-run fourth inning.
In the loss to Red Oak, the Lady Eagles scored once in the first inning, twice in the third and once in the fifth.
Howe 5, Cameron 2; Howe 7, Keota 2; Cameron 11, Keota 10: Monday in Howe, the local Lady Lions went undefeated in their own three-way, while the Lady Yellowjackets split their games.

WHITESBORO — Cameron pitcher Trey Sebo threw a three-hitter with six strikeouts as the Yellowjackets blanked the Whitesboro Bulldogs 12-0 Monday afternoon.
Nothing was reported on Whitesboro's game with Smithville by press time.
In Cameron's win, Sebo, getting his first win of the season, got all the run support he needed as his team got five runs in the first inning.
Howe 6, Leflore 5: In Howe, the Lions broke a 5-all tie with a run in the seventh inning. They tied the game at 5 in the sixth.
Wister 17, McCurtain 0; Wister 14, McCurtain 0: In McCurtain, the ’Cats clawed the ’Dogs twice.

Tickets still remain for the Poteau Pirates’ football season opener in the Hooten’s Kickoff Classic against Alma, Ark., at Fort Smith [Ark.] Northside High School at 7:45 p.m. Sept. 4.
Tickets for adults and students cost $7 per person, while pre-schoolers will be admitted for free.

Red Oak blanks Crowder to capture Carl Albert State College Invitational; Wister boys shut out Leflore for third place; Cameron boys consolation champions

The Red Oak Eagles won their second tournament in as many weeks to start the 2014 fall baseball season as they blanked the Crowder Demons 4-0 to win the 19th annual Carl Albert State College Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Ival Goodman Field.
The Eagles got to the finals by handling the Leflore Savages 15-1 in the championship semifinals Friday night at Howe's Lions Field.
The Demons made the finals by rallying past the Wister Wildcats 6-5 in the first championship semifinal contest Friday night at Lions Field.

Whitesboro boys beat Braggs in own tournament, lose to Eagletown in consolation finals

WHITESBORO — The Whitesboro Bulldogs baseball team split its final two games in its own Whitesboro Tournament last weekend.
The ’Dogs lost 2-0 to the Eagletown Eagles in Saturday afternoon's consolation finals after shutting out Braggs 8-0 in Friday's consolation semifinals.

WISTER — The Wister Lady Wildcats snapped their two-game losing streak with a 10-1 win over the Whitesboro Lady Bulldogs on Friday afternoon.
Pocola 4, Wister 2: Thursday in Wister, the Lady Indians (3-2 after the win) scored four runs in the sixth inning to take a 4-1 lead.
