CUSHING — Poteau Pirate wrestler Tyler Tustin placed third at 132 pounds at this past weekend's Cushing Tournament, in what second-year Poteau Coach Chris Barbee called “the toughest tournament in the state.”
“Here's how tough it was at this weight (132 pounds),” Barbee said. “There were three state champions, Tyler, one from Class 5A and one from Class 3A. There were nine state placers and four state qualifiers. He wrestled really well, but he had one bad match and lost in the semifinals to the kid from Comanche. As a whole, he wrestled pretty good.”
