STILLWATER — As any team approaches a big game, it wants to be playing well. It would appear as if the Oklahoma State Cowboys are doing just that.
After a 44-30 loss to Kansas State on Nov. 3, the Cowboys have eclipsed the 50-point mark in their last two games — a 55-34 win over West Virginia on Nov. 10 and Saturday afternoon's 59-21 rout of Texas Tech, both games being played at Boone Pickens Stadium.

How the (C-USA) West was won — by Tulsa, thanks to Saturday's win over UCF

November 19, 2012

TULSA — An epic western movie is entitled, “How the West Was Won.” There was a football game Saturday at Skelly Field at H.A. Chapman Stadium that could have also been described with that title.
Keyarris Garrett caught three touchdowns receptions to lift Tulsa to a 23-21 victory over Central Florida Saturday in a battle of Conference USA division leaders, and a likely preview of the league championship game.

Poteau Football Banquet — a building block for the future

November 17, 2012

The 2012 Poteau Football Banquet, which took place Friday night at the Bob Lee Kidd Civic Center, was not your ordinary football banquet. For one thing, the guest speaker was a Steve Edwards, Glenpool's football coach. As Greg Werner, Poteau's first-year coach, introduced the speaker, he made known to the crowd that Edwards handed him two losses while at Broken Bow, one in the Class 4A state semifinals and the other in the state title game.

November 17, 2012

The Golden Tigers (11-1) will entertain the Cashion Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. next Friday at Doc Robinson Stadium in the Class A state quarterfinals.
