October 24, 2012

The Arkoma Mustangs football team wants to end its home season on a positive note as the Mustangs will play their home finale against Southwest Christian Academy at 7 p.m. Friday at Mustang Field. The game time was moved up 30 minutes to help SCA get home faster since a lot of their athletes will take the ACT test Saturday morning at home in Norman.
The Mustangs (3-5) saw their two-game winning streak snapped Thursday night with a 64-18 loss to Thackerville, which is leading District C-4. The final score really did not indicate just how well offensively Arkoma played.

No game once again for Bokoshe this week

October 23, 2012

BOKOSHE — After a two week hiatus from the football field, the Bokoshe Tigers were hoping to return to action this week in a battle of Tigers at Maud. However, that Tiger tussle will have to wait until next year.
For the second straight District C-4 game, the Tigers (1-7 overall, 0-6 in district play) will have to forfeit to Maud (5-3, 3-3) due to lack of players.
“I think we'd have enough to play a basketball game because you only need eight players for that,” said Tyler Massey, Bokoshe's second-year coach. “But we just don't have enough for a football game.”
