PANAMA â€” The Panama Razorbacks baseball team bounced back from its tough road loss Thursday to Cameron to handle the Panola Bearcats 12-2.
The Razorbacks scored three runs in the opening inning for a 3-0 lead and never trailed.
Hartford, Ark., 13, Arkoma 1: Friday in Arkoma, the Mustangs fell behind 6-0 by the third inning before Josh Marion scored Arkoma's lone run on an error in the third inning.
Heavener 9, Buffalo Valley 4; Kiowa 16, Heavener 6: Friday in Kiowa, the Wolves split Friday's games.
The first 2013 high school track meet of the season in LeFlore County will take place today as the Heavener Invitational will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Harvey Stadium.
It will be the first track meet of the season for the host Wolves and Lady Wolves.
Other county teams expected to participate are Arkoma, Poteau and Spiro.
The Eastern Oklahoma State College Mountaineers baseball team took the first of its rivalry games from the Carl Albert State College Vikings on Saturday afternoon at Ival Goodman Field.
A three-run eighth inning broke a 4-all tie to enable the Mountaineers to beat the Vikings 8-5.
The Vikings will return to action this afternoon in a road doubleheader against Arkansas Baptist. Action in Little Rock is slated to begin at 2 p.m. The two teams split a twinbill Friday afternoon at Ival Goodman Field, with the Vikings winning the opener 9-0 but losing the nightcap 8-1.
Tuesday afternoon's Carl Albert State College softball doubleheader against Seminole State College in Shawnee has been canceled. The twinbill has been rescheduled for 2 p.m. April 2 in Shawnee.
The Lady Vikings will play Connors State College in a twinbill at 2 p.m. Thursday in Warner.
Well, it's hard to believe that the 2012-13 high school basketball season has come to an end, but it at least ended on a high note.
It was good to see the Talihina Golden Tigers return to state after a season off. Prior to 2012, the Tigers made state four straight seasons â€” winning the gold ball in 2011.
It just seemed that third time wasn't the charm for Talihina. The Golden Tigers upset Oktaha to win the regional title, then six nights later did likewise against Preston to win the area tournament and make state.
WARNER â€” The Panama Lady Razorbacks got their first win of the slow-pitch season Thursday night as they split their games in a three-way with host Warner and Gore.
The Lady â€™Backs blanked Gore 12-0 before losing 12-3 to host Warner.
Keota 15, Cameron 5: In Keota, the Lady Lions scored once in the first inning and three runs in the second inning for a 4-0 lead.
The Lady Yellowjackets scored three runs in the third inning to cut the deficit to 4-3, but the Lady Lions responded with a four-run third to take an 8-3 lead.
Choctaw Country Club is having a membership drive until April 1.
Anyone signing up to become a member from now until March 30 will be able to use the country club for free, and play a round of golf for free.
Beginning on April 1, those individuals will then be required to pay their dues covering a calendar year. There is a $25 application fee.

Tied at 1 in the seventh inning, a Panama error allowed Brennan Barclay to score from third base to give the Yellowjackets the victory.
A suicide-squeeze bunt by Drew Hopson scored Trey Byrd from third base to give the Razorbacks a 1-0 lead.
A Panama error allowed Blaise Lomon to score Cameron's first run in the third inning to tie the game at 1.
Three Panama Razorbacks will participate in the Class 2A State Powerlifting Meet, which will take place today in McLoud. The lucky trio will be Gabe Harp at 168 pounds, Ryan Farrar and Bobby Lotchleas at heavyweight.
