July 13, 2012

Poteau Lady Pirate basketball player Kaitlan Standridge went to participate in the United States Junior National Basketball Team tryouts on May 20 at Lighthouse Sports Complex in Oklahoma City. “I really didn't think this would happen,” Standridge said. “I have never really foreseen myself coming this far in basketball. I've developed a love for the game of basketball like I have over the past two years.”

The Buccaneers will play at 6 p.m. tonight for the state title, but they won't get to play their fellow Poteau team for it.
