Easily the biggest win for Fifth Date, it happened just two races after he was claimed for $18,000.

A one-in-a-million deer

October 20, 2012

I just got in a deer to process that I've never seen before. I've harvested a bunch of deer, and processed even more deer.
This buck, a nice eight-pointer, was in full velvet when I harvested him on Monday. That is usually unheard of at this time of the year.
Upon closer inspection, I discovered he, or I should say it, had both male and female organs. It was in perfect health, but did not display the normal signs of a buck in mid-October.
