SPIRO — Two years ago, the Spiro Bulldogs football team got to the Class 3A state quarterfinals before losing to Oklahoma City Heritage Hall. Unfortunately for senior Jermaine Jimmerson, he did not get to participate in that postseason due to breaking his leg in that season opener against Panama.
After the ’Dogs failed to make the playoffs last year, they are returning to postseason play beginning tonight. No one is happier about that than Jimmerson.
On Halloween night, we all went trick-or-treating in the Woods Addition. At the Repass house, Kevin and Val had a fire going, and they were making and handing out fresh s'mores along with their other Halloween candy. It was awesome. By the way, guys, I did go into your house and got a bottle of water. All that walking and talking to all those people made me so thirsty. Thanks again, guys.
I don't know how many different families I walked with because I lost my family in the crowd.

Mike Trout left quite an impression during his rookie campaign, in which he compiled a historic stat line and established himself as a candidate for the American League Most Valuable Player Award.
His peers certainly were impressed. Trout garnered the distinction of Outstanding Rookie in the AL, as voted on by his AL colleagues in the annual Players Choice Awards, presented by the Major League Baseball Players Association.
Wilson also selected Trout as the American League Defensive Player of the Year.
This weekend is one of my favorite weekends of the year to hunt. I have always had good luck on the weekend closest to Nov. 10. The bucks are chasing does around all over the place. I always try to sit in my stand all day at least one day on this weekend every year.
Dan Carter and I will join my ol' buddy, Butch Parks, at Clayton to hunt my lease for the weekend. Last year on this weekend, we saw nine bucks chasing does in one day. I hope it will be that good again this year. Even if it isn’t, we will have a great time and eat really well.
