The last time the Panama Razorbacks were home, they had a strong opening half against the Gore Pirates before losing in the season opener Aug. 30 at George Ollie Stadium. The Hogs are hoping for some of that same magic, this time for a full four quarters, on Friday night.
The Razorbacks will open District 2A-6 play at 7:30 p.m. Friday against the Wilburton Diggers at George Ollie Stadium.
The Arkoma Mustangs football team didn't get to open its home season last Friday night the way it had hoped. The Mustangs suffered a 56-6 loss to the Maud Tigers, but Mark Weatherton, Arkoma's coach, is quick to point out that his team may have played the best team in District C-4.
The Talihina Golden Tigers football team cannot do any better than it has to this point of the 2012 season, winning all three games — including Thursday night's 28-17 win over the Sallisaw Black Diamonds junior varsity at Sallisaw's Perry F. Lattimore Stadium.

The non-District 4A-4 portion of season has came to an end, and I really believe the Poteau Pirates should be awarded passing grades in all areas. In fact, I believe they should make the Honor Roll. Here's my grades for each group.
Offensive line — A. This group of student athletes are the motor that causes the Poteau Pirates offense to roll. I think I'll make that an A+ due to the depth. The first line is very strong and the subs that fill in are improving. The coaches are not afraid to make changes in personnel.
The Poteau Lady Pirates, fresh off winning the 2012 LeFlore County Fast-Pitch Softball Tournament Thursday night at the Poteau Area Recreational Complex, found out this past weekend that they will entertain the Muldrow Lady Bulldogs for a Class 4A District Tournament next week.
All other LeFlore County fast-pitch softball and baseball teams will begin postseason play this week as district tournaments will begin.
The up-to-date schedule for this week's playoffs and regular-season games is below.

WISTER — Everybody left somewhat satisfied after Friday's three-way baseball action with the host Wildcats entertaining the Whitesboro Bulldogs and the Oktaha Tigers.
In the only game where LeFlore County teams met, the Bulldogs blanked the Wildcats 2-0.
In the middle game, the ’Dogs' rally came up short as they were outlasted 15-11 by the Tigers, who then lost the final game of the three-way as the ’Cats beat them 7-2.
Monday Games Canceled Due to Wet Fields
TULSA — The Poteau High School cross country teams competed Saturday at the Oral Roberts University Invitational, put on by Tulsa Bishop Kelley High School, amidst perhaps the best field of runners they've seen to this point in the season.
