OU football seems to be alive and well after all

November 28, 2012

Wow!! I did not write a column last week, but what about the Sooners and the victories they have had the last two weeks. I know they were very ugly wins, but I only have one thing to say about that — I would rather win ugly than lose ugly. November 21, 2012

Three years ago when the Talihina Golden Tigers football team made the state quarterfinals, they had the dubious honor of traveling to Hennessey, located 20 miles south of Enid. The combination of the four-hour road trip and playing a good Hennessey Eagles team led to a season-ending loss for the Golden Tigers.
In 2012, the Golden Tigers are back in the state quarterfinals, but this time they're home. The Golden Tigers (11-1) will entertain the fifth-ranked Cashion Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Friday night at Doc Robinson Stadium in the Class A state quarterfinals.
